January 31 Days In China 28th Monday of Jan Left Auckland, akash and brian dropped me at the airport. we dined together at my last day, and they really making me feel my last day in auckland are the days that most worth to cherish. 29th Tuesday of Jan Arrived in Shanghai, minus 2 degrees, coldness cracks through my heart, first time in my life to see real snow, children playing with it. I have waited 5 hours at the airport. all flights delayed, im hungry and thirsty. people eating their dinner box. at least 20thousand people im sitting with, waiting at the boarding zone, for the unknown. 30th Wed of Jan Finally arrive in canton city, it is cold too, no snow though. i see my dad, hes getting older. no one recognize me, not any be able to do so. funny. i hear the noise of the traffic and think, is this my home, the place i supposed to belong to. i miss auckland, and my friends too. please call me when you go to my home. . . January 28 Summer End Yesterday I went to Mission Bay for Akash's Birthday celebration. I met a lot of new friends and had fun with all of them. Some of them were swimming while some were having a tanning. Harveen, Ruveena, Akash, Brian and me watched Sweeny Todd after dinner at Sylvia Park. The movie was about revenge, humanity, insanity and love. Quite of lot of music there is. But the story is good and catchy. Here are some photos from Mission Bay and thanks to all people who were there yesterday as it was the most fun I ever had! lol January 25 JunoWaited for 3 months, at first was attracted by its funny title, Juno comes out. It is about a teenage girl Juno MacGuff (by Ellen Page) gets pregnant and needs to make a life-changing decision. The father of the baby is Paulie Bleeker (by Michael Cera). Juno puts up her baby for adoption and it seems she has found a 'perfect' couple. But after interaction with this couple, Juno realizes that even they look perfect, they can't hide the differences between, and of course not the conflicts either. This shows Juno that two people get in love and decide to be together is a challenging decision, and somehow the issue just out of Juno's maturity level. Although living under the influences of her own parents' divorce, Juno shows a positive attitude towards her life and also to her baby - give it a chance to live. The interaction with her stepmother is full of humour, but also love - especially when she abuses the technician at the hospital :-) Juno asks her dad that "is it possible that two people can be together forever?" Her dad said as long as she find the one who loves her for who she is. After turned down Paulie, Juno realizes that she might just give away a good decision. She seriously took the advise from her dad's response and knows that no matter how other people look at her as a pregnant teenage mother or being 'sexually active', Paulie is the one who loves her for who she is (Juno's personality is contrasted with the wife of the perfect couple starring Jenifer Garner). Although past experiences from all these adults have brought doubts, Juno decides to drive back onto her highway. She fell in love with Paulie and gave birth to the baby. It is a comedy about life and family. A heartwarming love that inspires couples in struggle to live their marriages, and to inspire those who havn't met someones love the way they are. It is not how different, it is the process of our thought. January 20 We Can't Change The World, But... Time is going so fast, it has been a month since i knew i had to go back to China. Next week will be my last week. My friends and me are planning to have some fun before i head into the Canton city. We have so many ideas but are not sure which one works the best. But it is really likely that we are going to do the picnic again, or a movie, or to the beach, or all of them in one day. I hated my job, before. As i felt many people did not treat me with respect, not that type of respect to the higher command, but the respect to a normal human. Sometimes i got ignored, and sometimes i got humiliated. But either of them was still letting me down. And now i would leave after next week. And why people start treat me so nicely. I am feeling they are my friends, maybe not the close type, but not the lame ones either. Halima is my friend at uni, currently she is experiencing one of the darkest period of her life. Since i am having a hard time as well, i feel really happy that she send me some messages to encourage me to walk on. I have to thank her sincerely about that. Maybe it is easier to say than to do, trust me i am trying my very best. We can't change the world, but we can change things around ourselves. January 13 Into The Wild I watched a good movie today called 'into the wild', directed by Sean Penn (Academy Award Winner). This movie reviews a high income family which had history of domestic violence and the way it nutures a college graduate who looks foward to living in nature away from human (by Emile Hirsch). This story is based on the non-fiction bestseller by Jon Krakauer. This story is also orinially fom a true story of Mr. Christopher Johnson McCandless. Although tragedy is the main theme of this movie, through the stories of three couples', hippi lover's of Supertramp, a farmer's, and a lonely old man's stories, reflect a type of positive attitude towards life. "You forgive, you love. You love, God's light shine on you." by Old Man (Alex's 'Grandfather'). "Happiness is only real when shared." ('Alexander Supertramp'). Those two phrases review the underlying themes of the movies: you make your choices in life, and some of them might be non-exit, but the relationship and the inspiration between humans are most precious. January 11 Into The Wild （Chinese Eds。）今日睇左一出发人深省的电影，叫做‘into the wild’，导演（director) 系Sean Penn （Academy Award winner). 衣出戏内容系关于一个成长在有家庭暴力，但经济独立同小康的家，如何培养到一个向往自然，远离烦嚣的大学生（by Emile Hirsch)。 衣个故事系改自Jon Krakauer‘s nonfiction bestseller，同一个真人真事（Mr. Christopher Johnson McCandless). 虽然衣出戏系以一个悲剧为主题，以男主角的自白为基础，但距里面穿插着三对夫妇，男主角的初恋情人，一个罪犯，一个孤独老人同距自己家人的生活，反映出生活的积极性。 "You forgive, you love. You love, God's light shine on you." by Old Man (Alex's 'Grandfather'). "Happiness is only real when shared." ('Alexander Supertramp'). 以两句发人深省的对白系我觉得衣出戏里面其中主题。虽然衣条不归路系男主角的选择，但距所领悟到的道理系衣出戏里面带给观众灵感，一种关于人与人的灵感。而且里面所用到的暗喻，剪接，音乐，甚至系背景都凸现出工作人员的'高招'。希望有心人能睇完衣出戏之后学到里面道理。 January 09 The Only Way To RockToday I went to city with Faith and Sally, as they were searching for an apartment for rent. I realise it is such a long process from going there, do the application till moving in. There are also lots of fees to pay! lol. But moving out signifies another stage of life, an independent life. I give best wishes to Faith and Sally, because there are still lots of problems they need to overcome in the future. And the election in US is really tense. Obama won at the first state but now Hilary wins the 2nd round! Hope American people can find the one that can lead their country through all the challenges ahead. January 04 Mr. LegendWhat would you do if you find out that you are the only human in your city? Panic? A Great Runaway? Or just like Mr. Legend does in his newest box office hit "I am legend" - save the world? Mutation and zombies have been fantacies of the mid 20th and early 21st century human being. Such as one of my friend who even wants to get selected as those actors of zombies... lol. Sounds hilarious? But he can be DAMN quite serious about it, ha ha. I like this movie which starring Will Smith because it is different. It is no longer A Great Runaway (although I am sure he did panic a bit when he loses his best freind Sam). It is showing his attempts to control the situations and ... tries to come up with a vaccine that prevents, and a medicine that cures, this biological virus-caused mutation. His courage behind all is not seen yet in anyone around me, but it is an opportunity to dream a little bit, just like zombies and mutants can be cured and the world can be enlightened by Mr. Legend (his name is not Mr. Legend, but that's just how i prefer calling him). Anyway, i would give 8 out of 10 for this movie. Kind of strongly recommended if any one wanna feel different from the past zombie like runaway - breath-taking but not legendary.  |
